Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing of the mind, body, and spirit. It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us. When that energy is low, we are more susceptible to illness and stress, and when it’s high, we feel more happy and healthy.

Most people who experience Reiki say that it leaves them with feelings of peace, security, and well-being. They might feel a sense of light or warmth flowing through and around their body, calming their mind and
emotions.

Maggie offers Reiki treatment sessions in her West Hartford studio. A safe and natural technique for self- improvement, Reiki can be used by everyone. Because of its calming, healing effect, many people use Reiki to:

  • reduce stress
  • help with recovery from all forms of illness
  • reduce or eliminate the side effects of medical treatments
  • ease chronic pain
  • improve the healing rate

For those interested in becoming a Reiki practitioner, Maggie provides basic training and attunements. She provides private training as well as group classes.
Meditation
According to Swami Rami, the founder of the Himalayan Institute, meditation “is the simple technique of learning how to pay attention to and understand the various levels of yourself – the body, the breath and the mind.” In a meditation class, you will learn techniques to begin a meditation practice. Techniques include meditation postures, breathing practices, breath awareness, and calming the mind.

Meditation has hundreds of benefits, and here are a few:

  • energizes the body and mind
  • increases creativity and innate skills
